Gridizen and the Housing Quality Network (HQN) kick off their 1-year commercial partnership to promote technological change in the UK housing sector.

The partnership entails a series of best-practice-groups, thought leadership efforts and co-ordinated research co-ran by the duo, in order to highlight insights on housing’s most pressing issues.

Following a 2020 Freedom of Information request, Gridizen discovered that out of the participants, 60% of London local authorities had not changed their property management software in over 10 years.  The adoption of PropTech has been slow, compared to other sectors.

There has been little progress in tools that help improve landlord-resident relationships, leading to inefficient processes and dissatisfied residents. Additionally, the Tenants Charter announced in November 2020 combined with ESG reporting guidelines will only place additional burden on housing teams which dated software will be unable to support.

With Gridizen’s property management solution, and HQN’s expertise in the housing sector, the partnership seeks to enable engagement and enhance data and reporting within the sector.

Kamran Mahmood, Founder and CEO of Gridizen, said: “We are excited to work with HQN, with their breadth and depth of experience and membership. We are looking forward to engaging with other HQN members, listening to their challenges, and finding practical solutions through technology.”

Jon Land, Head of Networks and Events at HQN, said: “We are delighted to be working with Gridizen over the next 12 months. Their technology genuinely has the potential to improve the relationship between landlords and residents and it’s great to be involved at the start of their housing journey.”
